He brings over nineteen years of combined professional experience spanning external and internal audit, internal control reviews, enterprise risk management, banking and advisory services, and management consulting. His depth of expertise and versatility have enabled him to successfully establish functional units, design operating frameworks, and build high-performing teams through structured capacity development.
During his tenure with Ernst & Young Ghana, a member firm of Ernst & Young Global, Bonsu was actively involved in the planning and execution of audit engagements, supervision and review of audit procedures, control testing, and the preparation of insightful management reports for diverse clients.
In the banking sector, he has led and delivered internal audit, internal control and critical risk management initiatives, championing key projects and providing leadership across Internal Control and Audit, Market Risk, E-Payment Risk, and Operational Risk functions. His work has contributed to strengthened governance structures, enhanced risk oversight, and improved regulatory compliance within multiple financial institutions.
Bonsu is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants, Ghana (ICAG) and a Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (FCCA). He holds a Master of Business Administration (Finance) from Coventry University. He is also a certified ISO 27001 Information Security Management Systems Lead Auditor among others.
